About Us
The Tenets of Our Faith
Bible- the infallible and Authoritative word of God
We believe the Bible is our all-sufficient rule for our faith and practice.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving a true history of the creation of heaven, earth, and humanity and containing a correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding heaven, earth, and the destiny of humanity. Moreover, there is no salvation outside of what is taught in its pages. (for prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, through human, spoke from Gad as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2Peter 1:21)
One True God
We believe in the ONE true GOD
The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Triune one God in three persons; as the Father (Creator), in the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit).
God is a Spirit (John 4:24). He is the Eternal One, the Creator of all things. He is the father of all humanity by creation, the father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the father of the born-again believer. He is the First and the Last, and beside Him there is no God (Isaiah 44:6).There was no God formed before Him; neither shall be there any after Him (Isaiah 43:10).
Deity of Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ
“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus he will be great and will be called the son of the most-high. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and he reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end” How will this be, “Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? The angel answered “the Holy Spirit will come on you, and the Power of the Most-High will over shadow you, so the holy one to be born will be called the son of God.” (Luke 1:31-35).
Sin
We believe in the fall of man
Man was created good and upright in the likeness and image of God. Gen. 1:26-27. Man fell because he disobeyed God. Came under the punishment of physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Gen. 2:17, 5:6, Roman 5:12-19)
when a woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it, she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (Genesis 3:6).
Sin is the transgression of the law, or commandments of God (I John 3:4). The guilt of sin has fallen upon all humanity from Adam until now (Romans 3:23). The wages of sin is eternal death (Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:14) to all those who refuse to accept salvation as set forth in the Word of God.
Salvation
We believe in the Salvation of Man- for the grace of God has appeared that offers SALVATION to all people. (Titus 2:11)
Ordinance of the Church
We believe in the ordinance of the church doctrinal statement for:
1. Baptism in water
Baptism by immersion is commanded in the scriptures. For all who believe. Declares death and being raised with Him (Christ) to walk in newness of life. Mt. 28:19, Mk. 16:16 Act. 10:47-48, Rom. 6:4
The mode of Baptism:
“Immersion in water”. In Greek the word for Baptism or Baptize is “to dip” or “Immerse”. “To completely cover”.
Baptismos = Baptism & Baptizo = Baptize
2. Holy- communion
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements – bread and the fruit of the vine – symbolizes that we share the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. A memorial of his suffering and death, and prophecy of his 2nd coming. It is commanded for all believers until he comes. 1Cor. 11:26, 2Pet. 1:4.
I. Holy- communion represents the following: –
(a) The broken body
(b) The shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
II. Represents our union with Him who is the sustenance of our spiritual life.
III. Is a memorial of:
(a) His death – suffering
(b) A reminder of his 2nd coming.
The mode of Baptism:
“Immersion in water”. In Greek the word for Baptism or Baptize is “to dip” or “Immerse”. “To completely cover”.
Baptismos = Baptism & Baptizo = Baptize
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit- the doctrinal Statement.
(but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, Samaria and to the end of the earth Act 1:8).
- Is the promise of the Father to all believers?
- It’ is different from being saved
- It follows the new birth. (Act. 8:12-17, 10:44-46, Act. 11:14-16, 15:7-9)
Evidence of the Baptism in Holy Spirit
We believe in the evidence of the baptism in Holy spirit- all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit enabled them (Acts 2:4).
Doctrinal Statement.
The Baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is shown by the sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God enables (Act. 2:4). Tongues that come with Baptism in the Holy Spirit are the same as the gift of tongues (1Cor. 12:4-10, 28) but different in purpose and use.
Holiness
We believe in sanctification – but just as he who called you is Holy, so be Holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am Holy” (1Peter 1:15-16).
Doctrinal Statement.
We believe in sanctification – but just as he who called you is Holy, so be Holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am Holy” (1Peter 1:15-16).
Doctrinal Statement.
Sanctification is: –
- An act of separation from that which is evil.
- An act of dedication to God (Rom. 12:1-2, 1Thes. 5:23, Heb. 13:12)
- Is made possible in the believer by:
(a) Identifying with the death and resurrection of Christ
(b) Meditating daily on his union with the Savior
(c) Offering himself totally to the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 6:1-11, 13, 8:1-2, 13, Gal. 2:20, Phil. 2:12-13, 1Pet. 1:5). Sanctification deals with our character and conduct.
THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION
Thus, Pentecostals emphasizes its Mission in: –
(1) Evangelism:
Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Mk. 16:15-20) enables Christians to evangelize in God’s power with supernatural signs. (Mk. 16:15-20, Act. 4:29-31, Heb. 2:3-4)
Evangelism (Outward) Literally means “declaration or preaching of the gospel “Greek word for evangelism – Evangelion meaning “good news”
In other words, showing the good news of Jesus Christ, His Mission and, His offer of salvation. Jesus commanded it. Math. 28:19-20, Mk. 16:15
(a) To share the gospel everywhere. Act. 1:8
(b) The work can be done by the power of the Holy Spirit.
(c) God is glorified when members are added to the Body of Christ.
(2) Edification:
Believer’s fruits, Ministries, Gifts. (1Col. 12:28, 14:12, Gal. 5:22-26). Eph. 4:11-12, Col. 1:29
Edification – (Inwards) Individual members have the responsibility to edify and build up one another. Christians join together to teach and admonish one another by: Preaching the word., Testifying, Singing. Eph. 5:18-19. These Christians also should help a sinning brother to see his sin so that he might repent of it. Gal. 6:1-2, Jam. 5:19-20 and Responsible for praying for one another. Eph. 1:16-19
(3)Worship
The Holy Spirit helps us worship God in a greater way. (1Cor. 2:10-16, 12:13-14)
Worship – (Upwards) The Church is the temple of God and every individual believer is a priest. Rom. 12:1. Believers offer their bodies as living sacrifices to God; they offer to God a sacrifice of praise. Heb. 13:15.
THE MINISTRY
11. We believe in the ministry –so Christ himself gave the apostles, the Prophets, the Evangelists, the pastor and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ ( Ephesians 4:11-13)
Doctrine Statement
Our Lord has provided a divinely called and scripturally ordained for the three-fold purpose of leading the church in: evangelizing the world. Mk. 16:15-20, Perfecting the saints (a body of saints) in the image of His Son. Eph. 4:11-16, Worship God. Jon. 4:24
I. General Ministries
A. Priesthood of all believers
All Christian both the clergy and laymen. Have a direct access to God. They may be used by Him for the accomplishment of His divine purpose.
B. Every Christian is a minister.
1. Greek word “Diokonos means one who ministers or “a servant”
2. A person who is engaged full time in the service of the Lord.
II. Specific ministries.
In every organization there must be a leadership. God has set up in the church ministers of specific offices. Eph. 4:11; (1) Apostles (2) Prophets (3) Evangelists (4) Pastors (5) Teachers.
DEACONS:
Not listed in Eph. =. 4:9-11 but in Phil. 1:1 and 1Tim. 3:8-13. But a deacon is a “minister” or “servant” in Greek “Diakonos” Their job is to look after earthly needs of God’s people and others were also preachers e.g. Stephen, Philip. (Act. 6:8 to 8:3, Act. 8:4-13, 21:
Divine Healing
Doctrinal Statement
Divine healing is a vital part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement. It is for all believers. (Isa. 53:4-5, Mt. 8:16-17, Jas. 5:14-16). Healing did not end with the apostles. In every century there have been people who had faith in God for the healing of their bodies. New Testament miracles have been worked in the name of Jesus Christ whenever New Testament faith has been found. A few people testified of divine healings near the end of the 1800’s but testimonies of healing greatly increased when the Holy Spirit was poured out in the early 1900’s. Now millions of people believe in the glorious truth of divine healing. Pentecostal people accept the doctrine of divine healing. Many of them have proved it their own bodies. There are some who do not believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
However, many of these do believe in the healing of the sick through the prayer of faith.
God has made Himself known through the ages by miraculous healings and has made special provisions in the age of grace to heal all who will come to Him in faith and obedience. Divine healing was purchased for us by the blood of Jesus Christ, by His stripes (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; I Peter 2:24). Jesus went everywhere healing those who were sick (Matthew 4:23-24), and He commanded His disciples to do the same (Matthew 10:8). He said concerning those who believe the gospel, “They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:18). Mighty healings and miracles followed the disciples wherever the gospel was preached. There is no sickness or disease too hard for God. Any of us, our children, or our friends can be healed by the power of God.
THE BLESSED HOPE
13. We believe in the blessed hope
Doctrine Statement:
The blessed hope is the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (1Tim. 2:11-14).
This blessed hope or second coming of Christ includes two parts:
1. His coming for believers (The Rapture of the Church)
2. His coming with believers (The Revelation of Christ)
We believe that the blessed hope is imminent that is, it could happen any minute. When he comes, the dead in Christ will rise first then; those saints who are alive and remain will be changed. The living will be caught up with the dead who have risen to meet the Lord in the air (1Th. 4:16-18, Tit. 2:11-14, Rev. 19:11-16)
I. The Blessed Hope; the Second Coming of Christ
A. His coming is declared by scripture. Both Jesus and the angels testified to the second coming:
1. Jesus promised that he would come again. (Jon. 14:1-3).
2. Angels confirmed that he would come again. (Act. 1:11)
B. His coming will be a surprise (1The. 5:2, Mt. 24:36-42, Lk. 17:28-29)
C. He will come in the air for believers
The “taking away” of the bride of Christ has come to be known as the Rapture. The word “rapture” is commonly used. However, it is not found in our English Bibles. It comes from the word used in the Latin versions. It means to be “caught up”. (1Thes. 4:17). At the rapture, the dead saints will be resurrected. The living saints will be changed. Bothe those who were dead and those who were living will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Thus, the Church will be raptures. This is why we call his coming “The blessed hope” Paul says, (1Thes. 4:16-18). John also admonishes us (1Jon. 3:
THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST
14. We believe in the millennial reign of Christ-
Doctrinal Statement:
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints and the visible return of Christ with his saints. Then he will reign on earth for one thousand years (Zech. 14:4, Mt. 24:27, 30, Rev. 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6). The millennial reign will bring the salvation of the nation of Israel (Ezek. 37:21-22, Zep. 3:19-20, Rom. 11:26-27). When Christ rules on earth there will be peace for a thousand years (Ps. 72:3-8, Isa 11:6-9, Mic. 4:3-4).
FIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MILLENNIUM:
B. The Jews will be gathered to Palestine.
The temple in Jerusalem will be built again. Jerusalem will be the center of our Lord’s reign (Jer. 3:17; Mic. 4:8). The Lord will build again the tent of David which has fallen (Am. 9:11-12, Act. 15:16-17, Ezek. 36:24-28).
B. The Curse will be lifted from the Earth.
During the millennium, our Lord will lift the curse from man and the rest of the creation. The entire earth will become fruitful. (Isa 35:1, Ezek 36:30, 35, Rom. 8:19-23).
C. The world will enjoy a thousand years of peace.
There will be no need of powerful armies or navies. Military camps for training soldiers will disappear. Weapons of war will be made into tools for farming (Hos. 2:18; Isa 2:4, Mic. 4:3).
D. Life will be greatly lengthened (Isa 65:20-23, Rev. 20:1-2).
E. The Lord will be King over the Earth.
The whole earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord. He will be king over all the earth (Isa 2:2, Zech. 14:9). The Gentiles will come to the brightness of Christ’s glorious reign (Isa 55 and 60).
THE FINAL JUDGEMENT
15. We believe in the final judgement
Doctrinal Statement:
There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whoever is not found written in the book of life will be condemned. The devil, his angels, the beast and the false prophet will be doomed to everlasting punishment. They will be cast into the lake, which burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death (Rev. 19:20, 20:11-15, 21:8).
The punishment of sinners who do not repent will be terrible. We tremble when we think about it. Hell will be terrible. This is clearly taught in the Scriptures. Our loving Savior described this place of torment. He knew about the lake of fire too well to be mistaken. He was too righteous to deceive us. He was too kind to hide the truth from us. He warned us of the certain doom of the lost. (Mk. 9:43-48).
Hell is for the devil.
Hell (the lake of fire), mentioned in the scripture verses above, was not prepared for man. It was created to punish the devil and the demons which are in rebellion with him. Man does not go to hell by the will of God. God wants everyone to be saved. (1Tim 2:4). God cries out after the sinner, “Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11).
We cannot explain the harshness of God’s eternal judgment. Neither can we understand his love and mercy to lost sinners. We deserve nothing but punishment. Yet through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are exalted to sit with him in heavenly place (Rom. 11:22; Eph. 2:6. We know that hell is a terrible place because Jesus paid an expensive price to save us from it. No man is forced to go to hell. All are called to have mercy on their own souls. All are invited to flee to Christ for protection. Men do not go to hell because they are sinners. They go to hell because they do not want to believe and be saved. (Jon. 3:36, 2Cor. 5:11, 2Cor. 5:20).
THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH
16. We believe in the new heaven and the new earth – then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared a s a bride beautifully dressed for her husband (Revelation Ch. 21; 22)
Doctrinal Statement:
But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
The final age.
1. In the Final Age there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
Enoch lived in the seventh generation after Adam. He looked far into the future. There he saw Jesus coming with his saints to bring judgment and start the millennium (Jude 14-15). Similarly, Peter looked past the millennium and saw the destruction of the old earth. He saw the new heavens and a new earth that will be known for righteousness (2Pet. 3:5-13).
John also saw the Lord Jesus conquer; He witnessed Christ’s victory over all his enemies, including the devil. Looking into the future, he saw the resurrection of the wicked dead. They were condemned to the second death. He wrote about these things in Revelation 1-20, then in Revelation 21, he looked past the Millennium and saw the glorious mountain top; the final age. Rev. 21:1-2, Mt. 24:35, 2Pet. 3:10, Isa 65:17). The new earth will be better than the old. This is certain, for God himself will make it his home. The new heaven and earth will be cleansed from every stain of sin.
2 The Final Age will be better than the Millennium.
The state of the lost gets worse. They are moved from a temporary place of torment to eternal hell. On the other hand, the state of the saved gets better. After the sorrows of earth, we pass over to a life of peace, joy and victory. Next, we go into a millennium where dreams become real, and then we go with our Lord beyond the millennium into the final age. God the Father will be “all in all” This will be the glorious mountain top of the ages. The complete victory of our God. Human language is too limited to describe completely the final state of the believer. However, the description of the heavenly city in Revelation 21 and 22 is glorious. John used words to paint a beautiful picture. In Hebrews 11, we read about Abraham. He lived nearly four thousand years ago. Yet, by faith, he looked beyond our time. He saw past the Millennium into the Final Age. (Heb. 11:8-10, 13-14, 16).
Worship Service
Worship is the privilege that God gives every Holy Spirit filled believer to declare how great He is! God seeks true worshipers. who worship Him in spirit and truth “…for the Father seek such to worship him”. John 4:23 At PCC we offer passionate and joyous worship to God in the form of prayers, singing, testimonies, giving, and receiving the preached and taught Word of God.

Our-History
We gathered in our home for worship, ministry and fellowship, and the presence of the Lord was upon us. We saw God working among us in a mighty way, confirming his word by sign wonders and miracles, and strengthened us day by day. we could not keep this joy to ourselves we start to share our testimony with other people. Then we realize we could not be able to fit with many people in our apartment. And realize that church needed to be in public arena for everyone to join and worship with us through the guidance of our senior Leader Rev. M. Magembe he sent missionaries visitors from Tanzania Assemblies of God – Gospel Campaign center Pastor: Hilda M Magembe and Mary R. Mwakijale. who came and encouraged us in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. And by the grace of God on July 31, 2014 a new and dynamic church was born in the City of Toronto– Pentecostal Commitment Church. (P.C.C.), was inaugurated on September 07, 2014 at “Gospel Hall” – St Luke 353 Sherbourne Street under the Pastorate of Hilda M. Magembe and Alice R. Mwakijale. We continue to meet at the same venue for worship until 2022 when we moved to a new location due to Construction. Our worship and teaching services are designed to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and to bring all people into a living and saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Pentecostal Commitment Church is founded with the fundamental belief that God cares for and loves all people and that he wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth (1 Tim 2:4). The Lord Jesus Christ is both able and willing to help us, if we have the faith to ask him; for this is good and pleases God our Savior.
